The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened Thursday's trading session higher, with turnover standing at RON 18.52 million (EUR 3.6 million) 30 minutes after the start of trading.
The benchmark BET index, which tracks the 20 most liquid companies, was up 1.68%, while BET-Plus, reflecting the performance of the 43 most liquid stocks on the BVB, rose by 1.62%.
At the same time, the extended blue-chip index BET-XT, comprising the 25 most liquid shares, gained 1.58%, while BET-BK, the performance benchmark for investment funds, advanced by 1.43%.
The BET-FI index of financial investment companies (SIFs) edged up 0.31%, while BET-NG, which tracks the 10 companies in the energy and utilities sector, increased by 1.74%.
By contrast, the BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies from the AeRO market, was down 0.29%.
According to BVB data, the biggest share price gains were posted by Prefab (+8.26%), MedLife (+3.29%) and Intercapital Sbitop TR UCITS ETF (+2.95%).
On the downside, declines were recorded by Aeta (-5.69%), Electromagnetica (-3.91%) and Sinteza (-3.31%).
