The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened higher across most indices on Wednesday, with transactions totalling 9.5 million lei (1.86 million euros) 45 minutes into the session.
The main BET index, which tracks the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, rose by 0.76%, while the BET-Plus index, reflecting the 43 most liquid shares on the BVB, advanced 0.73%.
The extended blue-chip BET-XT index, covering the 25 most liquid stocks, gained 0.65%, while the benchmark for investment funds, BET-BK, increased by 0.57%.
The BET-FI index, which tracks the SIFs, fell 0.12%, whereas BET-NG, the index for ten companies in the energy and utilities sector, rose 0.78%.
The BETAeRO index declined by 0.19%.
According to BVB data, the largest share price gains were recorded by Armatura (+6.54%), UAMT (+4.42%) and Compania Energopetrol (+3.81%).
On the other hand, shares in Evergent Investments (-1.32%), Antibiotice (-1.32%) and Alumil Rom Industry (-1.22%) were down.
