The public-private partnership law could be functional as of October, the implementing regulation are to be carried out this summer, Minister for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship Ilan Laufer told a press conference on Wednesday.

"Currently we have a draft of the law from November 2016. Unfortunately, we have an extended working group and we tried to find solutions in order to manage to adjust, from the implementing regulation of the law, small dysfunctions that appeared in the law of 2016. We didn't manage to do it and, together with all governmental and non-governmental organisations and European institutions that were part of the working group, we have come to the conclusion that we would need to have a new law, more simplified, more easier, clearer, which can be implemented both for small and large projects," Laufer stated.

According to him, the final draft was adapted to the European conditions and legislation approximately after 15 working meetings.

"We are to work this summer in order to create the implementing regulation, because we want for this law to be functional as of October and we don't want to waste time with the implementing regulation. In this regard we won't take any vacation this summer and we are to work day at the implementing regulation, because it's a priority measure for us, as a ministry and for the entire governing programme," the Minister mentioned.
