The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) and Junior Achievement Romania re-launched the "Stock Market and Investments" school book. The school book will be used by approximately 5,000 high school pupils in Romania, therefore they will learn at school about the capital market, stock market mechanisms and different investment types, BVB CEO Ludwik Sobolewski announced on Thursday.

"Today me make a new step in our mission to bring the stock market closer to people. Once the "Stock Market and Investments" school book is launched, we want high school youth to become connoisseurs of the stock exchange phenomenon. Together with our partners we shoulder the creation of a new investors' generation," Ludwik Sobolewski stated.

Over 3,700 pupils from more than 77 high schools in 47 cities chose to study, whether as optional subject or in the educational and counseling class or extra-curricular, an hour course on the "Stock Market and Investments" school book. The school book is divided in six chapters, that go through topics as the stock exchange role in economy, what an investment means and what are the first steps, how funding through capital market is made and how can an investor portfolio be created. Furthermore, the pupils have at their disposal a glossary of terms and a series of tests in order to verify the level of the knowledge accumulated.

The launching of the "Stock Market and Investments" school book is part of the BVB's strategy, alongside other projects in progress placed under the "Fluent in finances" theme.
