Strengthening economic cooperation between Romania and Italy and the promotion of business opportunities for companies from the two countries were discussed at the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB), at a meeting CCIB Chairman Iuliu Stocklosa, and the ambassador of Italy to Romania, Laura Aghilarre.
Stocklosa wished Aghilarre success being head of Italy's diplomatic mission in Romania, underlining the readiness of CCIB to collaborate with the embassy to promote commercial exchanges, economic cooperation and mutual investments between the business communities of Bucharest and Italy.
"We express our confidence that deepening co-operation between the business communities in Romania and Italy will contribute to the more efficient capitalisation of the existing business potential and to a more balanced evolution of bilateral trade. We believe that a better knowledge of the opportunities offered by the two markets is essential to the business community, and the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry has set to support this process, both by promoting opportunities on the Italian market and by facilitating access of Italian partners to the offerings of Romanian companies, especially of the Bucharest business community," according to Stocklosa.
In her turn, Aghilarre underscored the importance of the economic dialogue between the two countries.
"I am honoured to accept the invitation of the CCIB. Today's meeting reflects the shared interest of our countries in strengthening their economic dialogue. I am convinced that there is a real openness on both sides to developing collaboration by organising joint events for the business communities designed to promote the opportunities offered by our markets and to facilitate direct contacts between companies. At the same time, such initiatives can contribute to the identification of concrete solutions to balance trade, including by stimulating Romanian exports and investments on the Italian market," said Aghilarre.
In their conversation, the two officials agreed on an event in partnership with CCIB, "Business Opportunities Day" (ZOA - Italy), designed to promote the key areas of the Italian economy and presenting the relevant legislative framework for the business community and investors. The event will facilitate the identification of Romanian companies interested in entering the Italian market or developing partnerships with companies there.
At the end of the meeting, the guests visited the CCIB Palace and the spaces that may host, in the future, events for the promotion of bilateral cooperation in the economic, cultural and other sectors of shared interest.
Attending the meeting were Federico Mozzi, head of the Economic and Commercial Bureau of the Italian Embassy; Alessandra Capobianco of the Italian Trade Agency; Roberto Musneci, chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania (CCIpR), and Giovanni Pometti, CCIpR officials.
Among the Romanian participants were also Eugen Terteleac, chairman of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce in Italy (CCRI); Gabriela Iftene, executive director of CCIB, as well as officials of the CCIBe International Affairs Department.
