President of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) Iuliu Stocklosa was appointed Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic to Romania on the occasion of the inauguration of the Honorary Consulate of the Kyrgyz Republic in Romania in an event attended by Kyrgyz ambassador Idris Kadyrkulov, and the Central Asian country's consul Esen Aksamaev.

"Today is a particularly significant day for us and for all those present, because we welcome for the first time in Romania, on an official visit, His Excellency, Kyrgyz Republic Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Idris Kadyrkulov. This year, as we mark 33 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and the Kyrgyz Republic, we reflect on a partnership built on mutual respect, shared values and a sincere desire to collaborate for the good of our peoples. This consulate represents more than just a diplomatic presence - it serves as a bridge. A bridge between cultures, between communities and towards the creation of continuous economic development. Building on bilateral trade between the Kyrgyz Republic and Romania, 2024 marked a record-high with a total volume of 67.1 million dollars, which represents an increase of 110% compared to 2023. We hope that Romanian and Kyrgyz companies will be more active in the coming period. At the Honorary Consulate of the Kyrgyz Republic in Romania and as president of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry at whose helm I was re-elected for another 4 years, I will do my best to promote bilateral trade between our countries," said Iuliu Stocklosa as cited in the release.

The Kyrgyz ambassador decorated the president of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the anniversary medal "75 Years of Foreign Affairs Ministry", on behalf of the Kyrgyz government.

On behalf of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic and myself, I convey my warmest greetings on the occasion of the official opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Kyrgyz Republic in Romania. This landmark moment strengthens the friendship and cooperation between our nations. The Kyrgyz Republic and Romania share a bond built on mutual respect and shared values - democracy, sustainable development and stability. Since 1992, we have cultivated solid relations through regular meetings and negotiations between our Foreign Ministries. The Consulate opens new cooperation opportunities. Kyrgyzstan aims to become a transit hub in Central Asia, contributing to the Trans-Caspian Corridor. Romania, with its strategic position on the Black Sea, the Port of Constanta and the Sulina Canal, is a natural partner. Promising areas include green energy and IT. Kyrgyzstan is advancing in the field of hydropower and information technologies, while Romania excels as a European leader in these sectors. Cultural and educational exchanges will strengthen our ties. The Kyrgyz diaspora in Romania, to which I extend my sincere thanks for its active role, serves as an essential bridge between our cultures. I particularly appreciate the joint efforts made together with the Honorary Consul Iuliu Stocklosa and the Romanian universities to expand educational opportunities for Kyrgyz students in Romania, thus strengthening academic ties and opening new perspectives for our youth, said the ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Idris Kadyrkulov.

Representatives of several embassies, as well as government representatives participated in the event.

According to the cited source, in the coming days, the ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic will have a series of meetings with representatives of Romanian ministries and government agencies such as the Ministry of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, the Ministry of Energy, and the Prime Minister's Office.
