CCR sedinta criza

The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) unanimously admitted on Tuesday the notification of Prime Minister Florin Citu regarding the existence of a legal conflict between Parliament and the Government on the censure motion filed by the Save Romania Union - Party of Liberty, Unity and Solidarity (USR PLUS) and the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), CCR officials confirmed for AGERPRES.

The Court admitted the notification of the Government and found the existence of a legal conflict of a constitutional nature between Parliament and the Government, as a result of the non-observance of the provisions of art.113, paragraph (2) of the Constitution.

"Parliament is to debate the censure motion submitted and to express its position by voting on it in compliance with the constitutional and regulatory requirements and the application of the principle of constitutional loyalty," CCR officials explained.

On September 8, Florin Citu filed a complaint with the Constitutional Court regarding the existence of a legal conflict of a constitutional nature between Parliament and the Government in which "unconstitutional conduct, both unfair and abusive, towards the executive authority" is invoked, as the censure motion was initiated, filed and communicated with "violation of the constitutional provisions of Article 113 paragraph (2) of the Constitution".

However, the constitutional judges decided to debate this notification after the National Liberal Party (PNL) Congress, which took place on Saturday and where Florin Citu was elected the new chair of the party, Agerpres informs.
