Strengthening the strategic partnership and defence cooperation with the United States of America, especially on the land component, was the main subject of a meeting on Wednesday of Romania's Chief of Defence Gheorghita Vlad and Commanding General, United States Army Europe and Africa Christopher T. Donahue.

"We also discussed the current security situation, both regionally and globally, as well as deterrence measures. The level of training of the American and Romanian troops, and also the national training facilities were also discussed especially in the context of the upcoming multinational exercise SABER GUARDIAN 25, which will mobilise in Germany, Romania and Hungary about 10,000 NATO soldiers," Vlad wrote in a social media post on Wednesday.

He added that he highlighted that Romania remains a reliable partner and a security provider in the Black Sea region and assured General Donahue of the Romanian armed forces' commitment to expanding cooperation and identifying new directions of common interest, both bilaterally and inside NATO.
