Support measures for energy consumers should be aimed only at the vulnerable ones, and not return to that stupid system when everyone was supported and we pretended that energy was cheap, the Competition Council's head Bogdan Chiritoiu said on Tuesday.
"It is clear that we are making an exceptional effort these months, because the situation is exceptional, but, as the minister of energy said, we expect a drop in gas prices in April and this will to some extent lead to a decrease. But the problem remains. High energy prices are not strictly transitory and in a few months we will return to the situation 10 years ago," Chiritoiu told the conference" Energy crisis - solutions to the problems of the moment," organized by DC News.
In his view, mechanisms need to be put in place to help manage the situation of vulnerable consumers.
If all consumers receive aid, they will no longer be encouraged to use it effectively and take measures to reduce consumption, he continued, Agerpres.ro informs.
He pointed out that the legitimate expectation of the state towards large companies is to cooperate correctly with the authorities and, when there is a state policy, by a normative act approved by Parliament, the companies should cooperate for the implementation of that strategy.
