The Outpatient Department of the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Cluj-Napoca has been equipped with high-tech medical devices worth three million euros, following a European-funded project completed by the Cluj County Council.

"The largest and most complex outpatient unit in the country has been equipped with high-tech medical equipment. The Cluj County Council has successfully completed a European project worth approximately €3 million, aimed at equipping the Integrated Outpatient Department of the Cluj-Napoca Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases," the Cluj County Council said on Wednesday.

According to the statement, 25 pieces of equipment were purchased, including a CT scanner, an optical coherence tomography scanner, a 3D mammogram with tomosynthesis, a digital videodermatoscopy system with body scanning, a urodynamic system with MEG module, ultrasound machines, a urology laser, an immunohistochemical staining system, tonometers and electrocautery machines.

The total value of the project was 15,037,276 RON (VAT included), of which 12,667,772 RON came from the European Regional Development Fund, 1,937,525 RON from the national budget, and 298,065 RON from the Cluj County and hospital budgets.

"We are glad to have completed this investment of major importance both for the health unit subordinated to the county administrative forum and for the numerous patients who visit the largest and most complex outpatient unit in the country. The latest generation medical equipment is indispensable for increasing the quality of services, facilitating examination, diagnosis and treatment in the best conditions," said Cluj County Council president Alin Tise.
