The National Weather Administration (ANM) issued a Code Yellow warning for exceptionally cold weather on Wednesday, valid until next Monday for almost the entire country.
According to meteorologists, in the period February 19 to 24, the weather will be exceptionally cold across most of the country, with freezing temperatures at night and in the morning. Minimum temperatures will generally range between -18 and -10 degrees Celsius.
Additionally, in the southern, eastern, and central parts of the country, temperatures will remain negative throughout the day, with maximum values generally ranging between -6 and 0 degrees Celsius.
The Code Yellow warning is valid for Bucharest and the counties of Alba, Arges, Bacau, Bistrita-Nasaud, Braila, Botosani, Brasov, Buzau, Cluj, Calarasi, Constanta, Covasna, Dambovita, Dolj, Gorj, Galati, Giurgiu, Hunedoara, Harghita, Ilfov, Ialomita, Iasi, Mehedinti, Maramures, Mures, Neamt, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Salaj, Suceava, Tulcea, Teleorman, Valcea, Vrancea, and Vaslui, in full, and partially in the counties of Arad, Bihor, Caras-Severin, Satu Mare, and Timis.
