The coffin with the body of King Mihai I arrived on Wednesday afternoon at the Peles Castle in Sinaia, accompanied by head of the Royal Family, the Romanian Crown Custodian, Princess Margareta, Prince Radu and members of the Royal Family.
The cortege was welcomed by the honor guard, consisting of mountain troops from a military unit in Busteni, as well as by a group of nine priests.
Draped in the national flag, the coffin was borne by eight servicemen with the 30th Guard Regiment "Mihai Viteazul" and then was laid in the Peles Castle's Hall of Honor.
The Presidents of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, members of the Government of Romania and of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, and members of the Parliaments of the two countries may present there their condolences from 14:00h to 15:00h; between 15:00h and 16:00h - representatives of state institutions (central and local ones); from 16:00h to 17:00h - representatives of the diplomatic corps, the European Union, NATO and international organizations; and between 17:00h and 18:00h - representatives of the Romanian Academy and the State Academy of the Republic of Moldova, the Orthodox Church, the Catholic Church and of other religious institutions.
The coffin with King Mihai I's body was brought to Henri Coanda International Airport at 11:00 am by an aircraft of the Romanian Air Force. A religious ceremony was held at the airport.
The event was held in the presence of the head of the Royal Family, Margareta, Prince Radu and members of the Royal Family - Irina Walker, Princess Maria, Nicholas de Roumanie Medforth Mills, Karina of Roumanie.
Present at the airport were Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu, National Defence Minister Mihai Fifor, Chief of Staff Nicolae Ciuca, Presidential Advisor Andrei Muraru, PNL President Ludovic Orban, and Patriarch Daniel's representative Metropolitan Bishop Nifon, Archbishop of Targovistea and Patriarchal Exarch, accompanied by a group of priests and deacons.
