A march is taking place in Bucharest on Thursday in memory of the victims of the fire at the Colectiv club 10 years ago.
Several hundred people gathered in University Square, from where they marched towards the former club, where, 10 years ago, the tragedy occurred. The demonstration is taking place under the title: ''Solidarity for justice; 10 years without justice''.
The demonstrators carry banners with messages such as: ''Corruption still kills'', ''10 years since Colectiv and no hospital for the severely burned'', ''#Colectiv65''.
''October 30, 2015, the moment Romania burned #colectiv. 65 lives were cut short, 65 people with families, loves, professions, stories. We still don't know how many could have been saved if we didn't 'have everything'. And we can't forget. 10 years later, corruption still kills in Romania. Nosocomial infections still claim victims - babies die in hospitals. There is still no real chance of treatment and recovery for the severely burned. 10 years after the #colectiv tragedy, for non-special Romanians it seems that nothing has changed. And no one has paid. No one pays. Closed cases and overturned sentences are not justice! The victims deserve for the guilty to pay. (...) On October 30, we take to the streets again,'' the organizers announced on Facebook.
In front of the former Colectiv club, where pictures of those who disappeared 10 years ago were placed, wreaths of flowers were laid and candles were lit on Thursday, a true altar in memory of the 65 victims.
