Construction production volume in Romania in the first eight months of 2025 was up year-on-year by 9.8% seasonally adjusted, according to data with the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Monday.
Capital repair works and new construction works increased by 48.7% and 7.8%, respectively. Current maintenance and repair works decreased by 5.2%. By construction objects, increases were recorded in construction of civil engineering works (+13.0%), residential buildings (+8.7%) and non-residential buildings (+3.8%).
In August 2025, compared with July 2025, construction production volume decreased seasonally adjusted by 26.2%, a decrease highlighted in current maintenance and repair works (-27.7%), capital repair works (-24.3%) and new construction works (-18.3%).
By construction objects, construction production decreased in residential buildings (-21.8%), civil engineering works (-20.8%) and non-residential buildings (-19.3%).
Also, in August 2025 as against August 2024, the seasonally adjusted construction production volume decreased by 2.3% overall. The decrease was visible in current maintenance and repair works (-11.1%) and new construction works (-1.9%). Capital repair works increased by 30.4%. By construction objects, the volume decreased in civil engineering works (-4.4%). Residential and non-residential buildings increased by 16.8% and 5.0%, respectively.
