Cooperativa Tara Mea terminates, as of Tuesday, all contracts with Austrian companies

Starting from Tuesday, Cooperativa Tara Mea started the procedures to stop any partnerships with Austrian companies, including banks, bank accounts, salary transfers and fuel supply for the company's vehicles, a press release from the organization reads, told Agerpres.

All employees and partners declared that they are with Romania and that they will duplicate this approach in their companies and families.

"We are sorry for some of the suppliers, but it is time to defend our country and put it above the immediate financial interests, as well as the whims of former empires. Respect for Romania is worth more to me, today, than the turnover," the president of Cooperativa Tara Mea, Florin Burculescu said.

Cooperativa Tara Mea is the largest agricultural cooperative in Romania and the only integrated cooperative, with activities from growing vegetables and raising animals to the production of dairy products, preserves, sausages and grocery products, 100 pct Romanian.

With over 10,000 member farmers, Cooperativa Tara Mea products have been available on the market for over 12 years.

The Council of Justice and Home Affairs rejected last week the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the Schengen area, two votes being against, in the conditions where unanimity was needed. Among the 27 EU member states, Austria and the Netherlands voted against, the latter noting that it opposes only the accession of Bulgaria.
