Defence Ministry: Additional measures to strengthen air space monitoring and security at borders
The Ministry of National Defence (MApN) announced on Wednesday, after the visit of Minister Angel Tilvar to Ceatalchioi and Chilia Veche, which are in the vicinity of Russian Federation attacks on the infrastructure of Ukraine's Danube ports, that additional measures will be taken to strengthen the monitoring and airspace security capabilities at Romania's borders, told Agerpres.
According to an MApN press release, the minister discussed with the citizens and authorities of these localities the problems they are facing.
"The team led by the Minister of National Defence, which included the Chief of Defence Staff, General Daniel Petrescu, and the Chief of the Air Force Staff, Lieutenant General Viorel Pana, was informed about the concrete situation in the areas visited and informed the local authorities (...) that additional measures will be taken to strengthen the monitoring and airspace security capabilities at Romania's borders," the source points out.
The MApN also mentions that the Ministry's team also went to the vicinity of the village of Plauru where specialists discovered, during the evening of September 5, "elements that can be assimilated to drone debris."
"The specialists sent by the MApN to the site have collected the evidence that will be subjected to technical expertise to determine their origin and characteristics. The conclusions drawn by the MApN specialists, following the completion of the investigations, will be made public as soon as possible," the press release also reads.
The minister is due to pay a visit to Galati in the afternoon.
