National Defence Minister Gabriel Les met on Tuesday at NATO headquarters in Brussels with Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg, whom he tackled with the topic related to the developments of the security situation in the Black Sea region.
According to a release of the National Defence Ministry (MApN), the agenda of talks with the NATO Secretary General included issues regarding the developments of the security situation in the Black Sea region, strengthening the deterrence and defence posture on the Eastern Flank of NATO, with an emphasis on the advanced adapted presence, the Multi-national South-East Brigade, the development of command and control capability of ground level army corps.

The quoted source mentions that within the meeting also discussed were the stage of preparations for Romania to take over and exercise the Presidency of the EU Council, as of 1 January 2019 and the priorities that our country proposes during this mandate.
