DefMin Mosteanu meets Heritage Foundation experts, voices commitment to working for safer Europe

National Defense Minister Ionut Mosteanu discussed on Monday with a group of experts from U.S. think-thank The Heritage Foundation about the strategic partnership with the U.S., the presence of American forces in Romania and at the Black Sea, but also about the security challenges in the region and Romania's role on NATO's eastern flank.

''Today I met with a group of experts from the U.S. Heritage Foundation, with whom I discussed how we consolidate and advance Romania's already very good relations with the United States,'' the minister announced on Facebook.

He noted that the Romanian-American strategic partnership was also discussed at the meeting.

''We talked about the Romanian-American strategic partnership, the presence of U.S. forces in Romania and at the Black Sea, the security challenges in the region and our role on NATO's eastern flank. I thank the American representatives close to the administration of President Donald Trump for their interest, and I am sure that we will continue to work together for a safer Europe," Mosteanu wrote.
