The decision regarding the companies that will be listed on the stock exchange is a political one and will have to be taken very soon in order not to miss the milestone in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), deputy prime minister Dragos Anastasiu told a press conference held at the Victoria Palace on Tuesday.

"First of all, in the PNRR we took on the obligation to list at least three companies on the stock exchange and that is what we will have to do if we do not want to miss the milestone. Otherwise, it is certainly a political decision that will have to be taken and one of the options that can be discussed to make the respective companies more efficient," said Anastasiu.

He emphasised that the obligation in the PNRR refers to energy and transport companies and that, if they are unprofitable companies, they should be reformed and made more efficient and listed at a time when more money can be obtained.

"There is an obligation in the PNRR on energy and transport. So there is this obligation, and it should be either energy or transport. Of course, you know how it is, if we list unprofitable companies, it is not very good because the values are very small. The ideal is to reform, to streamline the companies and to list them at a time when we can get more money. But don't ask me which companies will be listed because this decision has not been made yet. It will have to be made very soon because otherwise we will miss the milestone in the PNRR," Anastasiu pointed out.

Asked whether the listing of additional packages in companies already on the stock exchange, such as Hidroelectrica, is being considered, the deputy prime minister reiterated that the decision is a political one and specified that the national security strategy will have to be taken into account.
