Chief Prosecutor of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) Laura Codruta Kovesi said on Tuesday at the Supreme Council of Magistrates (CSM) headquarters that she has no reason to resign from office, pointing out that there are no tensions within DNA.
"There is no conflict, it is a request for an advisory opinion to revoke two prosecutors working in the DNA. (...) I asked for the revocation of two prosecutors, according to procedure. I cannot relate in detail the reasons as to why. (...) There is no tension, the activity carries on as usual. There are over 160 prosecutors in DNA, here we are talking about the proposal to revoke two prosecutors in DNA," Kovesi said.
Asked whether she is going to resign, the Chief Prosecutor denied it, saying she had no reason to do so. "No, I am not resigning, I have no reason for that," the head of DNA maintained.
The section for prosecutors of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) will consider on Tuesday the request of the DNA Chief Prosecutor, Laura Codruta Kovesi, for the dismissal of the prosecutors Doru Tulus and Mihaiela Moraru Iorga, as well as the cease and desist requests formulated by the investigators Adrian Tirlea and Doru Vacaru.
