Speaker of the Deputies Chamber Liviu Dragnea on Wednesday stated that he hailed the decision of the Prime Minister and members of the Cabinet to give up the Protection and Guard Service (SPP), which was not, he underscored, a political decision.
"I saw today that the members of the Cabinet made an important decision (...) I also have nothing against the SPP officers, and neither with this institution. I, for instance, have never benefited from their protection since I have become the Speaker of the Deputies Chamber, for I use the car from the party. However, this doesn't mean that any minister from the two governments give up SPP. So this was not a political decision to give up SPP. It was a decision of the Prime Minister and of the members of the Cabinet that I welcome," said Dragnea after the meeting of the PSD Senators.
Asked what were exactly his accusations against Pahontu, Dragnea dais: "I believe that there are others who will speak."
Related to the proposal regarding the setting up of a committee of inquiry into the SPP activity, Dragnea said: "Let's wait for the proposals first."
