Electrica Group posts net profit increase of almost three times in first nine months

The Electrica Group recorded a net profit of 839.8 million lei in the first nine months of this year, up by 537.4 million lei compared to the value of 302.4 million lei recorded in the same period of 2024.

According to a press release from the group, sent to AGERPRES on Friday, in the first nine months of the year, EBITDA recorded an advance of 63.1%, respectively of 670.4 million lei, reaching a value of 1.732 billion lei, compared to the value of 1.061 billion lei achieved in the first nine months of 2024.

The increase in EBITDA comes mainly from the variation of the supply and distribution segments, both of which had a positive evolution in 2025 compared to 2024.

The operating profit recorded an increase of 663.5 million lei, up to 1.287 billion lei, compared to the value of 623.7 million achieved in the first nine months of 2024.

The volume of supplied electricity was 13.5 TWh, up 2.1% compared to 9 months of 2024. Distributie Energie Electrica Romania (DEER) serves approximately 4.005 million users, in an area covering approximately 40.8% of the surface of Romania.

Market share in electricity supply - Electrica Furnizare is the second largest electricity supplier in Romania, with a total market share in January-July 2025 of 14.9% and 10.73% in a competitive regime, according to the latest available ANRE reports.

In the generation segment, the total aggregate capacity of Electrica Group projects, whether operational or in various stages of development, is 307.5 MW in renewable energy production projects (photovoltaic and wind) and 169.5 MWh in 4 energy storage projects. Electrica has also started 15 other battery park projects for electricity storage, with a capacity of approximately 1 GWh.

Electrica Group is a key player in the electricity distribution, supply and production market in Romania, as well as one of the most important energy service providers in the country.

The Group offers services to 4 million users, covering 18 counties in three geographical areas for electricity distribution (Northern Transylvania, Southern Transylvania and Northern Muntenia), and throughout the country for electricity supply and for energy maintenance and services.

Since July 2014, Electrica, the Group's holding company, has been listed on the Bucharest and London stock exchanges, with majority private capital.
