Final consumers who have questions regarding the value of the bill must first address the provider, who must offer clear explanations, and then, if the answers are unsatisfactory, they can submit complaints with the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), other institutions or even with the courts, shows a release of the ANRE, sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.

ANRE recommends clients conclude a consumption convention with their electrical energy/natural gas provider; request the monthly reading of the meter; check if the billing was done according to the reading provided; check in the contract the period when the reading must be sent to the provider in order to benefit from the self-reading mechanism, in order to avoid the billing of estimated consumption to be adjusted later; to not ignore the notices sent by the energy provider regarding the amendment of contractual conditions, especially in regards to prices/tariff modifications.

If these modifications do not respect the conditions set by the contract (fixed price for a certain period of time), the final consumer has the right to notify the ANRE or other institutions with attributions in this sense, even the court.

"We mention that, in the case of the household customer, if following the adjustment of the sum paid, the difference is greater than 100 RON, then the provider is obligated to restitute the sum paid by the client within 5 days of issuing the adjustment bill. Sums under this value will be compensated as discounts in future bills," shows the release of the energy regulator.
