A total of 350 entrepreneurs, managers and institutional decision-makers from the counties of Braila, Buzau, Galati and Tulcea attended the Leadership Excellence Gala on 9 December, the National Confederation for Female Entrepreneurship (CONAF) reported on Thursday.

"The fourth edition confirms a truth observed in all competitive economies worldwide - regional development results from the convergence of leadership, trust and institutions capable of generating continuity. The fact that the Gala took place at the Maria Filotti Theatre in Braila, with the support of the City Hall and in the presence of Mayor Viorel Marian Dragomir, indicates a rare phenomenon in the Romanian public sphere - the maturation of a partnership between administration and the entrepreneurial environment focused on tangible results rather than declarations," the press release reads.

In just four editions, the Leadership Excellence Gala has undergone an accelerated institutional transformation - from a project dedicated exclusively to Braila to a regional platform bringing together the four South-East counties for the first time within a common framework for validating excellence.

"In its seven years of existence, CONAF has become, without explicitly intending to, a true school of leadership, without manuals, without image artifices, without empty promises - but through the power of example and the real work of the people who bring it to life. Today, we have a community well represented in 31 counties, where authentic leadership is neither imposed nor proclaimed. At the Gala, we saw the sincerity you cannot learn from books: entrepreneurs who took the stage and admitted that they had moments of doubt, that they wanted to give up, but continued with the support of family, teams and the community. This is authentic Romania - a Romania seeking solutions, not applause. Four counties united in a Gala of leadership and excellence, in a full hall, where over 350 entrepreneurs demonstrated that a community can be built without unnecessary competitions. CONAF stands for work, passion and authenticity, people who build together a stronger country and an entrepreneurial environment that inspires and gives meaning to all who believe in change," CONAF President Cristina Chiriac was quoted as saying in the release.

Similarly, CONAF Braila President Dana Cireasa said the Gala confirms that Braila and the entire South-East region can become a hub of leadership and performance.

The 20 awards presented - five for each county - reflect the diversity, economic density and maturity of a regional ecosystem beginning to function as a unified block of excellence.

For Braila, the honourees were Mariana Zainia (Termhidro), Alexandru Stancu (Frontera), Luminita Mihailov (ADR Sud-Est), Aurelia Chioveanu (Lactate Braila) and Raluca & Marius Diaconu (Romilitaria).

For Buzau, the awardees were Nicoleta Nadia Oprea (AmaMED Expert - cardiology), Alina Dasu (Dasha), Iuliana Preda (VOESTALPINE Railway Systems), Arina Pintoiu (Enviro Green Consult) and Mihai Nicolae (Kondorcad Landsurv).

Laureates from Galati were Alexandru Serban (Criomec), Gabriela Ciulei (Terra Clinique), Andy Pusca (Danubius), Anca Lefter (Vega Hotel) and Mihai Ene (Union Jack), while for Tulcea they were Liliana Andrei (Centrul Medical Hipocrate & Post-Secondary Health School), Cristina Ilusca (Dinamic Construct), Herthea Nicolae (Fraher), Ivan Fedot (KalinkaEcoFarm) and Gurei Adrian Catalin (Ramalinstal Project).

A highlight of the evening was the Special Award for Professional Excellence presented to Ecaterina Chivu, President of CECCAR.

"This recognition reflects respect and appreciation for an institution and a leader who, through professionalism, resilience and dedication, contribute essentially to the economic health of the entrepreneurial environment," Cristina Chiriac emphasised.

The National Confederation for Female Entrepreneurship (CONAF) is Romania's most relevant confederation advocating for more efficient dialogue with authorities, collaboration in developing public policies that drive sustainable economic growth, and support for entrepreneurs, recognising their merits.

CONAF represents the largest entity of its kind in Romania, supporting and promoting Romanian entrepreneurship, with 31 branches, three federations, 13 chambers, 38 associations and 8,000 companies employing over 245,000 people.

CONAF supported projects such as "Youth Pact", "Entrepreneurial Education Marathon", "DigitalUP", "Labour Pact" (in partnership with FPPG), "Entrepreneurial Education Pact", the "Romanian Venture Forum" open-dialogue series, and "Romanian Tourism: Between Impasse and Opportunity", which have generated both public attention and legislative initiatives, the organisation notes.
