The exhibition "The Charm of Romanian Winter Holidays in the Fotografica Universe" will be inaugurated on 15 December at the Consular Section of the Romanian Embassy in Brussels, the Bucharest Student Cultural House reported in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday.
The event is organised by the Romanian Embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium in partnership with the Bucharest Student Cultural House.
The exhibition features works from the Fotogeografica National Photography Salon gallery that capture the richness of Romanian traditions and the beauty of customs that define cultural identity, in an authentic and expressive manner.
"Fotogeografica has become a celebration of Romania's visual identity and is one of the longest-running and most popular cultural events nationally, promoting the values of the country's natural and cultural heritage. Romania has spectacular nature, a remarkable cultural legacy and biodiversity, but all of this needs voices to make it visible. In an ocean of digital images, Fotogeografica remains one of the few platforms seeking meaning, not just aesthetics," the press release reads.
The opening will be attended by representatives of the diplomatic community in Brussels, Belgian officials, members of the Romanian community, Romanian entrepreneurs based in Belgium, students from various Belgian universities, pupils enrolled in Romanian language courses, as well as folk groups performing carols and presenting various winter customs.
The project is organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, in partnership with the Romanian Geographical Society.
