Finance employees resume protests in several cities

Finance employees resumed protests in several cities across the country on Monday, as negotiations with Finance Minister Marcel Bolos have failed.

According to information received from the National Trade Union Bloc (BNS), protests are taking place in several tax administrations in the country, in the counties of Iasi, Dolj, Vrancea, Buzau, Bacau, organised by the Solidaritatea Federation of Tax Administration Trade Unions, affiliated to the BNS.

The trade unionists are preparing for a strike in the first part of September.

Trade unionists in the Tax Administration organised a nationwide warning strike and a protest rally in front of the Ministry of Finance on August 22.

Also, on August 11, more than 15,000 employees of the Ministry of Finance across the country staged spontaneous protests, dissatisfied with the measures proposed by the Executive to reduce budget expenditure, as they could affect more than 22,000 people in the system.
