"By approving five Decisions, the Government declared the following projects in the field of natural gas transport as being of national importance: Modernization of the SMG Negru Voda 1 Natural Gas Metering Station; Modernization of the SMG Negru Voda 2 Natural Gas Metering Station; Modernization of the SMG Negru Voda 3 Natural Gas Metering Station; Modernization of the SMG Isaccea 2 Natural Gas Metering Station; Modernization of the SMG Isaccea 3 Natural Gas Metering Station," a release from the Government reads.

According to the cited source, the projects are to be included in the Modernization, Development and Investment Plan for 2026 of the Transgaz National Company, as well as in the income and expenditure budget for this year.

"Declaring them as of national importance in the field of natural gas contributes to eliminating administrative blockages and reducing implementation deadlines. The five investment projects are part of the Vertical Corridor concept, a strategic initiative promoted by Romania with the aim of reducing energy dependence and facilitating natural gas supply. Transgaz's development/investment program provides for the next ten years for works to expand and modernize the national natural gas transport system, the total value of which is estimated at 3.4 billion euros", the Executive also points out.
