Wizz Air has announced that potential disruptions are expected due to the ongoing interruption of Microsoft's global IT system and advises passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before the scheduled departure time to allow sufficient time for check-in, security screening and possible procedures.

"Today, like all airlines, Wizz Air is experiencing extreme technical difficulties caused by the disruption of a third party's global IT systems. Wizz Air customers may experience network-wide disruption, with website services and mobile applications being temporarily unavailable. Free airport check-in is offered during the service interruption. Therefore, we advise passengers to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure time to allow enough time for check-in, security and possible health or safety procedures specific to each airport", the company representatives transmitted.

According to the cited source, the following online services are currently unavailable: the Wizz Air website and mobile application; the reservation system; the online check-in system and the display of the boarding pass; contact centers - new reservations and changes to existing ones.

An IT failure in the Microsoft system globally is causing problems for many companies, including some in the aviation, financial, mass media, and other industries, international news agencies inform on Friday.
