The flu season's death toll reached 109, the National Centre for Supervision and Control of Communicable Diseases of the National Public Health Institute (INSP) announced on Tuesday.

The most recent casualties - an 81-year old woman from Bucharest and a 79-old man from Olt County - had been confirmed to be infected with the A flu strain. None of them had been vaccinated, but only the woman was known to suffer from pre-existing medical conditions.
