Founders of the Romania Together Movement say, in a press release issued on Wednesday for AGERPRES, that our country risks losing at the end of this year European funds of almost 1.4 billion euro due to disengagement.
The founders of the Romania Together Movement demand that the Government present a plan to avoid the loss of European money allocated to our country for the current year and state that in 2017 funds worth 1.2 billion euro were lost.
"The Government has at its disposal until the end of the year to access European funds worth almost 1.4 billion euro, otherwise risk their disengagement by the European Commission. Given that the Dancila Government succeeded the counter-performance of accessing European funds worth just 70 million euro in the last 3 months, the risk that the 1.4 billion euro will be permanently lost is extremely high," the press release reads.
According to the cited source, through the Regional Operational Program, the amount that can be lost is almost 800 million euro, through the Human Capital Operational Program the amount that can be lost is 561 million euro, and through the Administrative Capacity Operational Program over 39 million euro may be lost.
"At the same time, we draw attention to the fact that Romania registered a real absorption rate of only 14pct of the European funds for the period 2014-2020, plus 6pct pre-financing paid automatically, our country being the 21st in the EU in this respect," the release adds.
