Four Romanians were included in the Team of the Week of the final round of the Rugby Europe Championship 2022, where the Oaks defeated the Netherlands 38-12 in the away match on Saturday, securing the third place in the Rugby World Cup 2023 qualification table.
The four players picked are Ovidiu Cojocaru in the front row, Adrian Motoc in the second row, Daniel Plai for the fly-half position, and Hinckley Vaovasa as center, while Costel Burtila and Gabriel Rupanu were on the ideal reserve bench.
REC 2022 winner Georgia, which defeated Spain 49-15, has the most representatives on the Team of the Week, specifically seven: Beka Gigashvili, Otar Giorgadze, Beka Gorgadze, Vasil Lobjanidze, Merab Kharkadze, Akaki Tabutadze and Davit Niniavili.
Also included in the dream team are three Spaniards - Fernando Lopez, Manuel Mora and Guillaume Minguillon, as well as Dutchman Cristopher Raymond.
Romania will compete in November in the Final Qualification Tournament for the Rugby World Cup 2023, Agerpres informs.
