The organizers of Jazz in the Park music competition announce that 14 music bands from 10 countries will compete in Cluj, between September 19-21, after becoming finalists.

"The Jazz in the Park competition, the most important competition in Eastern Europe dedicated to jazz bands, has selected its finalist bands that will take the stage in the "Simion Barnutiu" Central Park in Cluj-Napoca, between September 19-21, 2025. Although 12 places in the final were initially planned, the high number of registrations convinced the jury to select 14 bands, chosen from the 308 entries coming from 50 countries, an absolute record for the competition," reads a press release sent on Thursday by the festival organizers.

The finalist bands come to Cluj from Spain, France, Norway, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands. Of the 14 bands that reached the final, four are from Romania.

"The Jazz in the Park Competition is growing year by year, and the level we reached in 2025 is impressive. This year we also exceeded the record of bands registered in the competition, and the jury had to increase the number of finalist bands for the second year in a row," said the manager of the Jazz in the Park Competition, Denisa Dan, quoted in the press release.

According to the same source, the Jazz in the Park Competition is the most important jazz competition in Eastern Europe. Structured as a festival with free access in the Central Park in Cluj-Napoca, the event brings together thousands of music lovers, who come to listen to the most promising young bands in the world.
