The French Institute and the Embassy of France in Romania announce the official launch on Wednesday of the France Excellence Roumanie 2026-2027 Scholarship Programme.
The event will take place in the Atrium of the French Institute in Romania from 09:30 to 12:00 and will also be broadcast online via Zoom.
According to a press release from the French Institute sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday, the France Excellence Roumanie programme allows Romanian students, doctoral candidates, and researchers to benefit from high-level academic mobility in France each year. A new national call for these scholarships (formerly known as Bourses du Gouvernement Francais) for Master's, Doctorate, and Post-Doctorate studies is being launched on December 10, marking a key moment for the Franco-Romanian partnership in higher education and research.
Around 60 scholarships are awarded annually, offering study and research mobility. France remains the sixth most popular destination for Romanian students, hosting a growing and dynamic academic community.
The French Institute in Romania is supported by a network of over 1,000 Romanian alumni active in academic, economic, cultural, and institutional fields who have benefited from mobility scholarships in France. Their involvement contributes to promoting and enhancing France's appeal, strengthening bilateral university cooperation, and inspiring new generations of applicants.
