GDP grows 0.9pct in Q2, 1.7pct in H1
Romania's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 0.9% in the second quarter of 2023, compared to the previous quarter, and in the first half of the year it increased 1.7% compared to the first half of 2022, on the gross series and 2.8% on the seasonally adjusted series, according to the flash estimate of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), told Agerpres.
Thus, on seasonally adjusted series, the Gross Domestic Product increased 0.9% in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter. Compared to the same quarter of 2022, GDP grew 2.7%. In the first half of 2023, compared to the first half of 2022, GDP advanced 2.8%. On gross series, compared to the same quarter of 2022, GDP in Q2 2023 went up 1.1%. In the first half of 2023, compared to the first half of 2022, the Gross Domestic Product increased 1.7%.
"Following the revision of the gross series by including the estimate of Gross Domestic Product for the second quarter of 2023 in the quarterly series, the seasonally adjusted series has been recalculated, with the volume indices revised from the second provisional version of Gross Domestic Product for the first quarter of 2023 published in press release no. 172 of 7 July 2023, as follows: Q2 2022 results, compared to Q1 2022, revised from 100.7% to 101.0%; Q3 2022 results, compared to Q2 2022, revised from 101.0% to 100.4%; Q4 2022 results, compared to Q3 2022, revised from 101.0% to 100.9%; Q1 2023 results, compared to Q4 2022, have been revised from 100.2% to 100.5%; Seasonally adjusted series are recalculated quarterly in line with European recommendations," the INS release reads.
