Investment opportunities, the development of dual technical education and cultural exchanges were among the topics discussed on Tuesday in Deva by the Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sibiu, Wiebke Oeser, and the president of the Hunedoara County Council, Laurentiu Nistor.
The talks focused on strengthening Romanian-German relations at regional level and identifying concrete areas of cooperation, as the German diplomat was on an inaugural visit to Hunedoara County, agerpres reports.
"The main topics addressed concerned industry and investments - through a presentation of the county's most important investors and the existing opportunities for attracting German capital; education - with an emphasis on developing dual technical education and adapting vocational training to labour-market needs; and culture - through initiating and expanding cultural exchanges aimed at strengthening ties between Romanian and German communities," the Hunedoara County Council said in a release.
The president of the Hunedoara County Council emphasized the local administration's interest in attracting German investment and supporting initiatives that contribute to the region's sustainable economic development.
During the talks, the competitive advantages of Hunedoara County were highlighted, including its industrial tradition, infrastructure, geographical position, skilled workforce and development potential in partnership with the German business environment.
"We are honored by the consul's inaugural visit, and I believe this open dialogue represents an important step in strengthening cooperation between Hunedoara County and our German partners. I was pleased to see the openness and interest shown in the county's economic, educational and cultural potential, and I am optimistic that through collaboration we will succeed in attracting investments, developing dual technical education and creating new opportunities for the local community," said Hunedoara County Council president Laurentiu Nistor.
In her turn, the German consul expressed appreciation for the openness of the local authorities and highlighted the potential for cooperation, the statement added.
