The Government has declared the investment project MASS - Mintia Power Plant as a project of national importance in the energy sector by a decision approved on Wednesday in the Government meeting, said the spokesperson of the Executive, Mihai Constantin.

"We are hoping another investment project with a great impact in the short term will come into force: the Mintia Power Plant investment project has been declared of national importance following the dialogue with the private investor MASS GLOBAL ENERGY ROM. The Mintia Combined Cycle Power Plant, equipped with two gas turbines, will have an installed capacity of 1.770 Megawatts. This investment project will contribute to increasing the security of electricity supply, ensuring the balance of the national energy system and reducing greenhouse gas emissions," Mihai Constantin told a press conference at the Victoria Palace of Government.

The costs of construction and commissioning will be financed by the private company MASS GLOBAL ENERGY ROM SRL and will amount to 1.4 billion EUR, he said.

"The power plant will be supplied by a new natural gas transportation pipeline, built by Transgaz and connected to the BRUA pipeline, which is estimated to cost more than 300 million RON," Constantin explained. AGERPRES
