The Ministry of Finance (MF) on Tuesday borrowed RON 34.3 million off banks in addition to Monday's RON 228.5 million, in one issue of benchmark government bonds of a residual maturity of 123 months at yields of 6.90%, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
The nominal value of the additional issue was RON 34.3million. The banks offered RON 65 million, agerpres reports.
MF has planned for July 2026 to borrow RON 8.5 billion off commercial banks, to which 15% of the nominal value awarded at the reference auctions can be added in additional sessions of non-competitive offers exclusively for benchmark instruments.
The total amount of RON 8.5 billion is RON 900 million higher than the one scheduled for June 2026 of RON 7.6 billion, and it is intended for early public debt refunding and government deficit financing
