The greenhouses of Romanian farmers and households will not be taxed, the Minister of Agriculture, Florin Barbu announced on Tuesday.
"In the Government meeting held this evening, the Fiscal Code was modified so that buildings that are used as greenhouses, mushroom farms, silos for feed, silos and/or barns for storing and preserving cereals will continue to be exempt from tax", Barbu wrote on his Facebook page.
He added that the Ministry of Finance understood the arguments of the Social Democratic Party and gave up on this measure that did nothing more than put "additional pressure on our farmers".
"I have said it and I will repeat it: our producers need support, not obstacles through measures that have a completely marginal impact on state revenues," Barbu also wrote on the social media page.
