Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete held talks on Friday with his counterpart from the Republic of Moldova, Emil Ceban, focusing on the organisation of medical services, institutions' capacity to support 'genuine' reforms, and how healthcare projects should be designed to deliver "visible and measurable" results within the system.
According to Minister Rogobete, a key point of the discussions was the exchange of experience regarding what already works well and what can be improved, namely hospital and outpatient care flows, data-driven decision-making and, above all, "the need for continuity in reform".
"During the visit, we also went to the Republican Clinical Hospital Timofei Mosneaga in Chisinau, where major investments have recently been made in infrastructure and equipment. I spoke directly with fellow doctors about how these investments translate into practice, about day-to-day challenges and about what can be improved for the benefit of patients. In the period ahead, we will cooperate on developing specialist outpatient care and on strengthening screening and prevention mechanisms, which are essential components of a modern healthcare system oriented towards early diagnosis," Alexandru Rogobete wrote on Facebook.
The two officials also agreed to renew and re-sign the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two health ministries, with a clear focus on well-defined areas of collaboration that can be applied in practice.
"We will focus on the following priority areas: healthcare human resources, through the development of exchanges of experience, joint training programmes and professional mobility; the pharmaceutical industry and access to critical medicines, including supply chain stability and potential cooperation in production and distribution; the digitalisation of healthcare systems and cyber security, with an emphasis on protecting medical data and ensuring the secure functioning of IT infrastructures; emergency medicine, through the exchange of best practices in organising emergency services, rapid response and crisis management; as well as transfusion safety, as an essential element for the quality of medical care and patient protection," Health minister Rogobete specified.
At the same time, a separate section of the discussions focused on healthcare human resources.
