Romania and the Republic of Moldova could develop a commercial collaboration system to support and ensure the treatment of patients from the neighboring country for whom there are currently no therapies, the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete said on Friday, while visiting Chisinau, and mentioned that bilateral relations need to be strengthened.

"We have an important history in the exchange of experience and the development of human resources. (...) I believe that the geopolitical situation, but also the current situation, both in Romania and in the Republic of Moldova, obliges us to strengthen bilateral relations between the two states, especially in the area of the development of the pharmaceutical industry and trade between the two countries for medicines, but also for biologically active products necessary for oncological patients or with other pathologies, for whom there is currently no therapy in the Republic of Moldova. I believe that we can develop a system of commercial collaboration between the two states, so that we can support and ensure the treatment of these patients, in a commercial, transparent and institutional exchange", Rogobete told the joint press conference with his counterpart in Chisinau, Emil Ceban.

He emphasized that digitalization is an important component in the development of any health system, as it ensures the transparency of the medical act, the transparency of funds, but also the organization and the response capacity.

According to the minister, the digitalization of the medical system must come "in a package" with a high-performance cybersecurity system, in order to protect patient data, but also to ensure the security of the health system.

"Another important area, which I addressed together with the minister, refers to transfusion security and the reorganization and reform of the blood and blood products circuit, an important element in absolutely any country. We are trying together, using the technical assistance from the European Commission that we now have. We can share it with you and support you in this very important endeavor", Alexandru Rogobete said.

He announced that, in March, he would organize, together with the Minister of Health of the Republic of Moldova, a scientific session, to which international experts in health management and managers from hospitals in the two countries will be invited.
