Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu to spend Christmas, New Year at Royal Castle in Savarsin

Her Majesty Margareta, the Crown Custodian and His Royal Highness Prince Radu will be at the Royal Castle in Savarsin for Christmas and New Year, accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Princess Elena, Princess Sophie and Princess Maria.

According to a Royal House released sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, on Friday, 19 December, from 12:30, the Royal Family will present gifts to the staff of the Royal Castle and the Savarsin Forestry District.

"At 17:00, the Custodian of the Crown, Prince Radu and Princess Elena will attend the opening of the Royal Christmas Fair in the Royal Village. The event will be followed by a carol recital performed by the Choir of the Nativity of the Mother of God Parish in Arad and a performance by artist Sava Negrean-Brudascu with the Sava Band," the release said.

On Saturday, 20 December, at 11:15, the Royal Family will give out Christmas gifts to Savarsin residents in need.

"From 15:30, the Royal Family will welcome the following groups of carol singers from across the country: representatives of the Invictus Volunteers Association from Deva, the 'Cununa Craiului' Ensemble from Bucea commune, the Voci Transilvane Choir of the Cluj-Napoca Students' Cultural House and pupils from the "Regele Mihai I" Technological High School in Savarsin. As of 17:00, the Royal Family will attend a recital performed by master Gheorghe Turda, followed by a concert of traditional carols by the villagers' group from Negreni commune and the Corindatorii Traditiilor Clujene," the Royal House said.

On the final day of the Royal Christmas Fair, Sunday, 21 December, at 14:30, the Royal Family will attend a recital by master Stefan Hrusca. At 15:00, they will watch the "Alaiul Dubelor" winter customs festival.

On Christmas Eve, 24 December, at 12:00, the Dubasi of Savarsin will be welcomed in the fountain square within the Royal Village.

On the same day, the Press Office of His Majesty will broadcast the Christmas message of Her Majesty, the Custodian of the Romanian Crown.

The Royal Family will attend the Christmas service at the Orthodox Church in Savarsin on the morning of 25 December. The remaining days of Christmas and New Year will be spent privately at the Savarsin Castle.

The Christmas Fair, hosted in the Royal Village (located at the entrance to the estate), will be open to the public on 19, 20 and 21 December.

Furthermore, visitors will also be able to explore the Royal Car Museum, the Tea House, King Michael's Auto Workshop and the Souvenir Shop. The Royal Park remains closed during the winter.

The Royal Christmas Fair and public events at Savarsin are organised by the Royal Collection Foundation with the support of Profi Rom, Comtim, Banca Transilvania, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, the Romanian Motor Insurers' Bureau, the "Produs de Cluj" Association and the "Traditii Clujene" Culture and Art Center.
