Hidroelectrica shareholders approve stock exchange listing of company

The shareholders of Hidroelectrica have approved, on Thursday, during an Extraordinary General Assembly, the approval for trading of 19.94% of the stocks of the company on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), according to a release sent to AGERPRES.

The listing will be made following a secondary public offer regarding shares of S.P.E.E.H. Hidroelectrica S.A. representing up to 19.94% of the total shares issued by the company, done by Fondul Proprietatea S.A.

The shareholders are the Romania state, through the Energy Ministry (80.06%) and Fondul Proprietatea (19.94%).

"We hail the decision of the shareholders to list Hidroelectrica on the stock exchange and we are fully ready to fulfill this decision. I would like to emphasize that the listing opens new opportunities, including for Romanians who want to buy and own stock in one of the most solid companies with majority state ownership," said Bogdan Badea, chairman of the board at Hidroelectrica, Agerpres.ro informs.

Hidroelectrica is the largest producer of green energy in Romania and the main supplier of technological services necessary in the National Energy System, being a vital company for a strategic sector, with implications in national security.

The company is exploiting a number of 209 plants, with a total installed power of 6,482 MW. These are supplemented by the wind park in Crucea, with an installed power of 108 MW.
