The immigration police issued, between 1 January and 30 November, 100,914 residence permits for foreigners who chose to live legally in Romania.

"The data highlight the sustained activity of the structures of the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI), which handle daily a significant number of applications, ensuring strict compliance with the legal framework and fair and professional treatment for each beneficiary," an IGI press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday states.

According to the release, in a dynamic and diverse migratory context, Romania remains an increasingly frequent option chosen by foreigners for work, studies or long-term settlement and the activity of immigration policemen reflects this reality through a high volume of applications resolved daily.

"Immigration police will remain on duty in the period ahead and will provide support to all those who need it," the quoted source added.
