The border police found, in the last 24 hours, 71 illegal acts (62 infractions and 9 contraventions) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens, at the "green frontier" and at border crossing points,.

"There were discovered, independently or in collaboration with other institutions, undeclared goods (which were about to be illegally brought into the country), which exceeded the accepted threshold, or were suspected of being counterfeit, worth over 8,600 RON. The value of the applied administrative fines amounts to approximately 6,100 RON," informs a press release sent by the Border Police General Inspectorate (IGPF) , on Friday.

The police denied entry into the country for 31 foreign citizens, who did not fulfill the legal conditions, as well as 30 Romanian citizens' exit for various legal reasons.

More than 137,000 people with more than 41,400 means of transport have crossed the border in the last 24 hours, the busiest being the border with Hungary.

"On July 1, through the border crossing points countrywide, approximately 137,400 people, Romanian and foreign citizens underwent control formalities; with over 41,400 means of transportation (of which 13,300 freight vehicles). On the inbound there were approximately 69,500 people with 20,700 means of transportation and on the outbound there were 69,700 people with 20,700 means of transportation," the quoted source shows.

The Hungarian border was transited by approximately 40,700 people and 18,500 means of transportation (6,000 freight vehicles), of which on the outbound there were approximately 22,300 people with 9,100 means of transportation and 3,800 freight vehicles.

"The border police is working at the fullest capacity allowed by the infrastructure of the border crossing points, which is why we are recommending all traffic participants to go through all the crossing points opened to international traffic, so that we can avoid overloading just some of them," IGPF specifies.

Information regarding the situation of border crossing points open to international traffic can be found on the on-line Trafic application, which can be accessed at the following address: http://www.politiadefrontiera.ro/traficonline/, Agerpres informs.
