Immigration police have registered, in the last two days, 1,313 applications for obtaining residence permits.
"Another 1,165 such documents were approved and 122 were rejected," informs a press release from the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI), sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
53 actions, controls and inspections were carried out, and, for the irregularities found, immigration police applied 12 minor offense sanctions, totaling 60,400 lei.
892 temporary and long-term residence permits were issued to foreign citizens, with 762 applications for extension of the right of residence being registered,according to the provisions of Emergency Ordinance no. 194/2002 on the regime of foreigners in Romania, republished, with subsequent modifications and additions.
Also, another 259 residence permits were issued for beneficiaries of temporary protection, in the context of the application of the provisions of Council Directive 2001/55/EC of 20 July 2001, on minimum standards for granting temporary protection in the event of a massive influx of displaced persons, as well as measures to promote a balance between the efforts of the Member States in receiving these persons and bearing the consequences of this reception.
"The activities were carried out both with our own forces and in cooperation with police officers with responsibilities in the field, in a context in which 11 foreigners were detected in illegal situations, three of whom were returned from the territory of our country," the same source shows.
