The job vacancy rate declined by 0.12 percentage points in Q3 of 2017 compared to the similar period of 2016, and the number of available jobs in public administration dropped by 4,000, up to 58,900, according to data published on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, in Q3 of 2017, the most significant drop, both in regards to the vacancy rate and the number of vacant jobs, was recorded in public administration (-1.20 percentage points, 2,900 vacant jobs, respectively), and, at the opposite pole, the most significant growth was recorded in transport and storage activities (+0.23 percentage points, +700 available jobs, respectively).
According to INS, in Q2 of 2017 the most relevant decline, both of the vacancy rate and the number of available jobs, was registered in public administration (-1.37 percentage points, +3,700 available jobs, respectively), as a consequence of implementing the legal provisions in force.
At the opposite pole, the most significant increases in rate vacancies was recorded in financial intermediation and insurance (+0.31 percentage points), in education (+0.22 percentage points), respectively.
The number of available jobs registered significant growths in manufacturing industry (+1,400 vacancies), trade and education (+700 available jobs each), respectively. AGERPRES.
