Romania recorded in October a negative population growth of 3,974 people, down when compared with the same month last year, when the negative growth recorded was of 6,472 people, according to data released on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
On the other hand, the number of marriages was by 70 smaller in October 2017 against October 2016. Moreover, there were by 100 more divorces pronounced as definitive under Law no. 202/2010 in October 2017 against October 2016.
By comparison, the official statistics shows that there were 17,999 children born in Romania, by 157 less in October 2017 versus September 2017. At the same time, the number of deceased recorded in the same interval was 21,973, by 3,335 more compared with the previous month.
With respect to the number of marriages, there were by 70 less marriages recorded in October last year and by 100 more divorces pronounced as definition under Law no. 202/2010.
The natural growth in Romania was negative in October 2017 (-3,974 people), the same as in October 2016 (-6,472 people).
