Romania's policy, from foreign policy to other public policies, is made by people who have official mandates, interim president Ilie Bolojan told a press conference on Tuesday.
He was asked about the recent statements made by businessman Dragos Sprinceana, presented as Romania's emissary in relations with the USA
"I would not like to comment on the remarks of a Romanian citizen about the perspective he has regarding one aspect or another that relates to our country. Our country's policy, from foreign policy to other public policies, is made by people who are mandated in this regard, who have official mandates or by Romanians' vote or by Parliament's vote or by governmental decisions and I think that only after these statements and after these mandates can we make comments that relate to one policy or another, including Romania's foreign policy," said Bolojan.
The interim president said that he does not wish to respond to comments on this issue.
"I don't think it helps our country.(...) It is a rather complicated period in terms of global security, global trade, we have presidential elections in Romania and everything that happens in this period is being amplified, it is being interpreted by those who are running or by those who support them and I don't think it is right for me to get into such a game of statements," he added.
