Ion Iliescu, former president of Romania, remains hospitalized in intensive care, is conscious, cardiac stable, breathing spontaneously, but requires additional oxygen, the "Prof. Dr. Agrippa Ionescu" Emergency Clinical Hospital announced on Thursday morning.
"The patient is conscious, cardiac stable, breathing spontaneously, but with a need for additional oxygen. We specify that against the background of the evolution of the underlying disease, correlated with the fragility associated with advanced age and existing comorbidities, the physical performance index is significantly low, with almost complete limitation of self-care or mobility capacity.
He remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit, where he benefits from advanced medical care under the supervision of the multidisciplinary medical team," the medical unit informed, in a post on its Facebook page.
Ion Iliescu, aged 95, has been hospitalized at the "Prof. Dr. Agrippa Ionescu" Hospital for two weeks.
