Authorities are working on an emergency ordinance regarding a state aid to be granted to the IT staff so as to fully cover the costs resulted from the switch of social contributions' pay from employer to employee, as of 1 January 2018.
"The ordinance will address the companies that hire IT staff and have to pay some 8.5pct additional costs. We decided on this figure so as to cover integrally the companies' costs. We shall also explain the mechanism, so that each employer will receive the money difference they would otherwise cover from their own budget," Misa said at the Parliament Palace.
"Currently, we have exceeded the revenues forecast in the Budget Law. The collections by the Tax Authority (ANAF) are over 100pct in 2017. Hopefully we shall bring even a few millions in additional cash from the large tax payers and the other categories and, at the same time, from the evasion area, the anti-fraud, the customs. At the customs' level, the growth on certain segments is 20pct. Results begin to be noticeable and we hope that in 2018 they will be more substantial," Misa added.
The employees with the IT companies were benefiting from salary tax exemptions.
